This Privacy Policy explains what information Rumyantsev Cigar Co., LLC ("we", "us") collects through this website, how we use it, and the choices you have. We collect only what we need to run a small, local, adults-only cigar shop.

Information you give us

• Orders and reservations: your name, email address, phone number, the items you want, and, for delivery, your delivery address. We use these to confirm your order, arrange pickup or delivery, and contact you about it.
• Pre-orders (restock waiting list): your name, email address, optional phone number, the product and quantity, and your confirmation that you are 21 or older. We use this only to tell you when the item is back in stock.
• Messages to the shop: when you message us from the website chat, we store your name, your chosen contact method (email or phone) and contact detail, your messages and our replies, and the page you were on, so we can answer you.
• Contact form: the contact form opens your own email app with your message filled in. We receive whatever you choose to send by email.

Age and ID checks

At pickup or delivery we inspect or scan your government-issued photo ID to confirm you are 21 or older and that you are the purchaser. We may keep a short record of that check (for example: date and time, staff member, ID type and expiration, that age 21+ was verified, and your signature) to meet legal and payment-processor requirements and to resolve disputes. We do not keep a copy or photo of your ID.

Payment information

This website does not collect or store payment card numbers, expiration dates, or security codes. Card payments are taken in person on a card reader at pickup or delivery, or, if online payment is offered in the future, on our payment processor's own secure hosted page. The processor handles card data under its own privacy policy and card-industry (PCI) security rules.

Information stored on your device

We do not use advertising or tracking cookies, and this site does not use Google Analytics or similar analytics tools. Your browser's local storage is used for:

• remembering that you confirmed you are 21 or older;
• keeping your cart;
• keeping your chat conversation and a private ID for your message thread with the shop, so our replies reach you.

You can clear these at any time in your browser settings.

Service providers we use

• Google Firebase (Google LLC) hosts this website and stores our product catalog, pre-orders, and chat messages in Cloud Firestore. Like any web host, Google's servers process technical data such as your IP address and browser type when you load the site.
• Google reCAPTCHA Enterprise / Firebase App Check helps protect our site and database from bots and abuse. It collects hardware and software information (such as device and application data) and sends it to Google for analysis. Its use is subject to the Google Privacy Policy and Google Terms of Service.
• Chat assistant (Google Gemini via Firebase AI Logic). When you type a question to the automated assistant, your question and the recent conversation are sent to Google's Gemini service to generate an answer. Please don't share sensitive personal information with the assistant.
• EmailJS sends our restock emails from our Gmail account. When we notify a waiting list, your name, email address, and the product name are passed to EmailJS and Google (Gmail) to deliver the message.
• Google Fonts supplies the typefaces on this site, so your browser connects to Google to load them.
• Payment processor (when card payments are taken) receives the payment details needed to complete your transaction.

How we use and share information

• We use your information to fulfill orders, verify age, answer your messages, send restock notices you asked for, prevent fraud and abuse, and comply with the law.
• We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.
• We share information only with the service providers above, when required by law or a valid legal request, or to protect our rights, customers, or the public.
• We send restock emails only to people who joined a waiting list. We do not send marketing emails unless you separately ask to receive them.

How long we keep it

We keep order, delivery, and ID-check records for at least 18 months to handle returns, card disputes, and legal requirements, and pre-order and chat records for as long as needed to serve you, after which we delete them. You can ask us to delete your information sooner where the law allows.

Your choices

• Ask us what information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by contacting us below.
• Ask to be removed from a pre-order waiting list at any time.
• Clear your browser's site data to remove the age confirmation, cart, and chat history stored on your device.

Adults only

This site is intended only for adults 21 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 21. If you believe a minor has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

Customer records are stored in Google Cloud Firestore and can be read only by our signed-in staff. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

Changes

We may update this policy. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when it last changed.
